General Statement |
We believe that true faith resides in the heart and that having a relationship with Jesus Christ is not based upon ritual or ceremony, but rather upon the way one lives his or her life - showing love, forgiveness, and kindness to others, as the Lord so mercifully does for all of us ( Jeremiah 29:13; Hosea 6:6; 1 John 4:16). Being saved does not mean merely uttering words, but upon the heartfelt actions by which one illustrates his or her faithfulness as a Christian ( Isaiah 29:13, Matthew 15:8; John 14:15; 1 Peter 3:8-9; 2 Peter 1:5-11). |

The Holy Trinity |
We believe there is one God, residing eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We further believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is the eternal Son incarnate, and even though He is fully God, He became flesh and walked among us ( John 1:14). He was born of the virgin Mary ( Luke 1:31-32), lived a sinless life ( 1 John 3:5), died on the cross for our sins ( John 1:29; 1 Corinthians 15:3), was buried and rose from the grave on the third day ( Matthew 16:21, 20:18; 1 Corinthians 15:4), ascended into heaven ( John 3:13; Acts 1:9), and will come again in glory to judge us all ( John 14:3; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 1:7).

The Bible |
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that to truly know Him - to understand His divine nature and character and to know the Truth, we need to know and understand what the Bible says ( John 17:17; Heb 4:12). We believe that the Bible is a road map not only for what prophetically lies ahead of us, but as a guide for how to live our lives as Christians ( 2 Timothy 2:15). Some will argue that it is difficult to understand prophetic statements and illustrations in the Bible. We believe, however, that the Holy Spirit affords all of us the knowledge and wisdom we need for such understanding, merely for the asking ( Proverbs 2:3-5; John 14:26; James 1:5; 1 John 2:27). This applies not only to understanding scripture, but also to having the discernment in life to know the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, deception and truth. |

Faith vs. Works |
We believe that the penalty for man's sin was paid on the cross of Calvary by the death of Jesus Christ. By believing in Him and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life ( John 3:16). It is not through works that we are saved, "lest any man should boast" ( Ephesians 2:8-9) but by our heartfelt belief in Jesus Christ ( Romans 10:9). However, it is this heartfelt belief that genuinely leads us to obey Him and thereby live our lives as He illustrated for us ( John 14:15; 1 John 5:3). If we profess to be Christian, we need to truly live our lives with the attributes of a Christian, otherwise our profession of faith is not sincere ( 1 John 1:6-7). |

History and Scripture |
We believe that to better comprehend and appreciate the prophetic statements made in the Bible, it is necessary to study and understand history to the best of our ability. It is interesting to note that we no longer teach history in our schools. It is our professed belief that this is not accidental or coincidental. Jesus warned us in Matthew 24 about the many deceptions that would pervade our understanding of the truth in the Last Days. By forgetting our legacy as Christians along with the rudiments of our faith, we are leaving ourselves open to such deceptions ( Matthew 24:24; Romans 1:25; Acts 20:29; 2 Thessalonians 2:11). As one example, the Protestant Reformation is a subject that used to be taught as part of a standard history curriculum in our schools. This event in Christian history is so fundamental to the understanding of Bible prophecy and our roots as Christians that, without it, most of the prophetic statements in the Bible are reduced to nothing more than colorful metaphors with interpretations that are conjecture at best. We urge all sincere Christians to study history as they carefully read through scripture. The truth will become apparent and the blessings will be abundant! |
